Tanya has been in business for nine years. Over the past three years, she went from booking 17 sessions a year to 71 sessions last year with an average sale of about $3,600.
What you might be surprised to learn that most of Tanya’s clients don’t book with her right away. In fact, it takes most clients about two years to make the decision to have a boudoir session. Unlike other types of photography, boudoir photography is a luxury — not a need.

To book clients, Tanya has to convince them that it’s something that they want to do and should do for themselves. She has to connect with them in a genuine way and hope that over time, she’ll become their photographer.
This means putting valuable content on her blog and using social media and her private Facebook group as a way to get to know her. Very often, she’s connecting with people over non-photography related topics like kids and margaritas.
